Repair & Servicing
When a truck stops earning, the useful question is not only what broke but what it will take to put it back to work. Repair and servicing at JH starts with that conversation: you describe the symptoms, our staff ask the questions that narrow the possibilities, and we agree on the work before it begins.

How a repair job starts
Most repairs begin with a phone call or an email describing what the driver noticed — a warning lamp, a noise under load, a leak that was not there last week, a brake that feels different. Those details shape the first look at the vehicle, so the more specific you can be, the less time is spent rediscovering something you already know.
Once the equipment is with us, the shop works out what is actually wrong rather than replacing parts hopefully. You are told what was found, what the repair involves, and what it means for the rest of the vehicle, so the decision to go ahead is yours and it is an informed one.
Approval before the work
No repair is carried out on the assumption that you would have said yes. Findings are explained first, including anything discovered along the way that was not part of the original complaint, and work proceeds once you have approved it.
If something turns up mid-job that changes the picture, the shop stops and talks to you again. That is slower than pressing on, and it is the reason there are no surprises at the end.
- You hear what was found before anything is replaced.
- Additional findings are raised as a separate decision, not absorbed into the original job.
- Anything we are not the right shop for, we will say so.
Planning around the repair
A repair is easier to live with when you know roughly where it sits. Talk to our staff about timing and about what the vehicle is needed for, and they can tell you how the job is likely to fit alongside the work already in the shop. Timing is confirmed by staff rather than by this website.
Common questions
What should I have ready when I call about a repair?
The unit number, the make and model if you know it, and a plain description of what the driver noticed. Fault codes and recent repair history help as well, but the description of the symptom matters most.
Will I be told the cost before the work is done?
Yes. Our staff explain what was found and what the repair involves, and the work goes ahead once you have approved it. Anything discovered later is raised with you as a separate decision.
Can you tell me over the phone what is wrong?
Sometimes a description narrows it down usefully, and our staff will say what it points to. A reliable answer usually needs the equipment in front of a technician.
Do you work on trailers as well as trucks?
Ask our staff about the specific equipment you run. It is a short conversation and it saves a wasted trip.
